Saturday Surprise Contest

Angie, over at PW decided to throw us a surprise contest today. Here are the "rules"
Make a A2 sized card using the following:
Half of a circle
Two rectangles
Two embellishments of your choice (can be two brads, eyelets, buttons etc.)
One colored image (can be current or retired)
One bow (but no straight length of ribbon!)

Well....I think I made a boo boo AFTER I uploaded my card and started typing this. Oh well, it is what it is. Anyway I got "stuck" on the no straight length of ribbon. So I decided to use curling ribbon!! he he he No straight stuff there! BUT I didn't make a bow...just a knot. The 2 embellies are 2 giant sized eyelets that I ran the curling ribbon thru. It took me 10 tries to snap a pic of this thing...glare everywhere. I tried. So the quality isn't there, but it's late and i'm tired.

The half circle is actually a "full circle" stamp taken from Circle Sampler
The elephant is from On Safari
Bazzill CS
Patterned Paper from Uptown Girl (You can't tell from the photo, but it is black paper with pink in it.)
There are also 2 giant sized eyelets that I ran the curling ribbon thru.
I colored in the elephant with h20 pencils and a dove blender and topped off with some stickles.

Sweet Skunks

I made these cute little boxes for my son to take to his Valentine party at pre-school. I used TAC's Sweet Skunks stamps and then used liquid applique to highlight their cute little bodies. Then after it dried I put some stickles on top...make sure your liquid applique is VERY dry before you do this. ((If you click on the picture,it will enlarge enough for you to see the stickles).
One of these days I'll learn how to take good pictures!

How to get the most out of your paper packs!! As you see here, I used the cover page from my paper pack to make tags. It worked GREAT and I didn't have to use up my 12x12 sheets!! (click on the pic to see a better view)

I'm still here! Sorry for not posting in a while.....this week my DS 2yo has been bitten by a spider, had an allergic reation to his antibiotics, horrible chest cold, his ear drum ruptured (again, even tho he has tubes)....

FAST and EASY Project

I've seen people make some cute projects with these big clips before and I thought I'd try making one as a project for my Sunday School girls. They LOVED it. I created this card by using different snowflake stamps and a varitey of purple inks. I love to make fast and simple cards. This one is just one layer. I used a sticky note to make my void spot so I could stamp my greeting. Don't get me wrong, I love layered cards and I sure love bling. But every once in a while we need to stop and make something easy!

Here is my attempt at the melted crayon technique. It is really fun. I cut my strips and then stamped my flower with Stazon. Can you see my "oops" on the last row? After I let the stazon dry for a while, I colored in that baby with a white gel pen and it was gone. whew!
